Dec, 2001 : Sprint Opens Los Angeles Data Center Robert B. Marks

📅 December 17, 2001 - Global communications firm Sprint Corp. (sprint.com) announced today announced the opening of a new data center in the Los Angeles area. This is the 10th E | Solutions data center Sprint has opened in the last year.
Called the Southern California Internet Center, the new facility offers managed hosting and co-location services, and consulting services including business continuity planning, enterprise security, and migrations to mobile computing. The data center also sits on Sprint's fiber-optic T1 backbone, and has all of the features one associates with a good data center, such as full monitoring and technical support, HVAC systems, and private locked cabinets and cages.
"The Southern California Internet Center is the culmination of a year-long campaign to build a nationwide fabric of hosting facilities that fuel our customers' e|business success," said Keith Paglusch, President of Sprint E|Solutions. "With the Los Angeles location online, we now have nationwide capabilities to accelerate the implementation and ROI of our customers' mission critical e|business initiatives."
