📅 December 20, 2001 - NTT/Verio (nttverio.com) announced a major upgrade of shared-hosting products for its UNIX and Windows platforms, without increasing prices to customers.

NTT/Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, is a provider ofglobal Internet Protocol services and Web hosting.
The upgrade - representing increased bandwidth transfer, disk space ande-mail accounts - lets customers bring more visitors to their Web site,place additional data within their account, and establish more e-mailaddresses.
"In this current economic climate, NTT/Verio is providing a cost-effective,flexible Web solution for small- to medium-businesses looking to establishan online presence," said Toru Takama, vice president of products for SMEhosting. "The upgrade provides these businesses with the features necessaryto make the most of their Web site. With the enhancements, customers canexpand their online presence and remain competitive in today's marketplace."With NTT/Verio shared hosting, customers get private space on a high-speedserver for a fraction of the price of a private server, the company said.
Companies also receive around-the-clock support, secure files, backup andrestore services, and critical information about Web traffic to their sites.
