The company says it has experienced amore than 500% growth in online trading volumes within the last year.

Cognotec provides services enabling financial institutions to brand andoperate their own foreign exchange and money market trading services overthe Internet. Serving 60 global and regional customers in Europe, Asia andNorth America, Cognotec is using Digital Island's 2Transact services toensure transactions are completed over a secure global infrastructure. Partof the 2Way Web Services suite, Digital Island's 2Transact services giveCognotec access to a secure Global Internet Protocol backbone connected to327 Internet Service Provider networks.
"Our range of services provides a vital trade execution service for a numberof the world's leading financial institutions. Downtime is totallyunacceptable. We need a comprehensive solution with the built in fail overof working with multiple ISPs," explains Maurice Curran, head of systemsarchitecture, Cognotec. 2Transact services are infrastructure services that enable Cognoteccustomers to complete transactions over the Internet by providing a two-waycommunications channel between the public Internet and its hosted customerdatabases. Transport routing intelligence directs traffic along the mostdirect path on the network speeding the delivery of the managed applicationsthat Cognotec provides.
