Jan, 2002 : NEC Certifies SuperSpeed Technology for Servers
📅 - NEC Computers Inc. (neccomp.com), a provider of mobile, desktop and server computing solutions, has announced the addition ofSuperSpeed Software, Inc. (superspeed.com), to its fault tolerantcertification partner program. SuperSpeed Software has passed NEC Computers'benchmark testing, and SuperSpeed products are now certified as a option forboosting server performance with the NEC Express5800/ft fault tolerantserver series.
SuperSpeed software products greatly speed up Windows 2000 applicationperformance by means of patented virtual hard drive and hard drive cachingtechnology. While system processor and memory speeds on the Intel platformhave continued to increase, application performance is still constrained byrelatively slow hard drive and Input/Output speeds. SuperSpeed softwareproducts address these constraints and can make applications operate up to100 times faster, the company says. A white paper explaining how serverperformance is improved so dramatically is available on the NEC FaultTolerant Server Web site at necft.com, entitled "Increasing Mission CriticalPerformance."
"The promise of our fault tolerant server line is to offer completesolutions for all IT environments that want less than 5 minutes of down timeper year," said Neil Salamack, FT systems program manager, NEC Computers."SuperSpeed's proven performance enhancement capabilities bring significantvalue for our IT users running mission critical applications. As a result ofthe certification process, our customers can be assured it will work in afault tolerant environment."
