Jan, 2002 : Apple Chooses Primus for Australian Internet Campaign

📅 January 21, 2002 - Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated (primustel.com), a facilities-based total service provider, and Apple Computer, Inc. (apple.com), announced recently a strategic partnership that will see Primus Australia, Australia's third-largest Internet Service Provider, become the computer giant's preferred national ISP to promote to customers in that country.

The three-year relationship, during which time Apple will have the Primuslogo embedded on newly shipped units to appear as part of the userregistration process with the iPrimus Internet service being the defaultservice embedded into Apple's products, is the first exclusive deal of itskind with a top tier technology provider. Apple is the second majortechnology provider after Compaq to select Primus as its preferred ISP inAustralia.
Apple's primary target markets in its Australian campaign is to include theconsumer market and graphic designers and media professionals, segmentsknown for their heavy on-line use and large consumption of bandwidth.
Apple Australia's managing director, Ben Bowley, said Apple was delighted topartner with iPrimus on this exclusive arrangement. "We believe the strengthof iPrimus and the power of Macintosh will combine to provide an optimumInternet experience for our customers," Mr. Bowley said.
Ash Chopra, general manager for iPrimus Australia, described Apple'sselection of Primus as testament to its strong network coverage and speed,reliability, broadband capacity, technical support and flexibility as apartner.
