Feb, 2002 : New RoundHeaven CEO Drives Eastward Expansion
📅 - RoundHeaven Communications, a provider ofmanaged hosting solutions, announced yesterday the appointment of RobertOffley as president and CEO. Offley has also been appointed to the company'sboard of directors. A privately held Vancouver company, RoundHeaven is setto expand its business operations to Toronto in early 2002.
Offley said, "RoundHeaven is in an excellent position to be a leader in theCanadian managed hosting market based on the strength of its assets,differentiated market position, prestigious client base, talented technicalteam and solid balance sheet. The lack of competitors offering the same highlevel of managed hosting and disaster recovery solutions elsewhere in Canadaprovides an opportunity to quickly expand our base of enterprise-levelcustomers with mission-critical managed hosting needs." RoundHeaven willsupport its Toronto expansion with corporate offices and data centers in thelocal market.
Offley joins RoundHeaven from PSINet Canada, a global Internet and hostingprovider whose Canadian operations were acquired by Telus last year. Offleyworked in a number of senior management positions for PSINet Europe beforejoining PSINet Canada as president and CEO, operating offices in Toronto,Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.
In July 2001, RoundHeaven completed a US$20 million first round ofinstitutional funding from M/C Venture Partners, a Boston, Massachusettsbased venture capital firm. The funding was one of the largest first roundequity investments in the Canadian high tech sector and has enabledRoundHeaven to expand operations, increase sales and marketing initiatives,and develop new services.
