Feb 28, 2002 : Ebone Set to Host European Gaming Site

📅 February 28, 2002 - Ebone, a European broadband IP and optical networking company signed an agreement to assist Intellnet, an online gaming service provider, to improve the access of its new interactive online game The Super10.

A series of online skill-based for prizes, the Super10 gaming portal, is sponsored by Lycos UK. Ebone's (ebone.com) will host the site.
Datamonitor, a UK market research company, predicted that Europe's largest online games market will grow 67.7 per cent year-on-year. Intellnet's site, which will include games like space invaders and word-based games, is well positioned to reap the benefits of that trend.
Ebone's hosting experience will provide Intellnet a high level of management and maintenance expertise, as well as increased network security. The credit points that players win can be traded in on The Super10's sister portal, ishop, an online shopping mall also developed by Intellnet.
``Interactive gaming is becoming one of the most innovative applications over the Internet but it relies on IP broadband and its capacity to deliver the combination of quality, security and speed,'' said Leo McCloskey, senior vice president marketing, Ebone.
Intellnet has located all its servers in Ebone's hosting facilities and is using Ebone's IP network connectivity to its Super10 web sites and services. Intellnet is planning to expand the number of Ebone-hosted sites as it expands its live interaction and multi-user, real-time gaming.
