Broadwing Provides Network Services To The Bank of America

📅 April 1, 2002 - Broadwing Inc., an integrated communications leader today announced that it has been selected by Bank of America as one of their primary network providers, transmitting Bank of America's data among their top major markets across the United States. Valued at almost $70 million over ten years, the agreement will base the Bank of America's nationwide network on Broadwing's lightwave services.

Giving the Bank of America a market advantage over other financial institutions, Broadwing's (broadwing.com -> lumen.com) wavelength services will provide extensive bandwidth, high-speed connectivity, and fast provisioning of new services for customers. Enabled by Broadwing's optical network, the Bank of America's optical imaging services will allow employees to quickly access digital images of customer documents including bills, checks, statements and applications.
Additionally, Broadwing will link its Network Operations Center (NOC) with Bank of America's NOC and train their technicians, allowing Bank of America to standardize network operations for improved efficiency and lower operating costs.
Broadwing's all-optical switched-network received the Infrastructure of the Year Award.
