Apr, 2002 : KPNQwest Secures Three-Year Deal With Helsinki Television

📅 April 2, 2002 - KPNQwest, a Helsinki-based data communications and hosting company, today announced that it has sealed a multi-million Euro, three-year contract with Helsinki Television (HTV), Finland's largest cable television company, to provide a high capacity IP Transit link with in-built redundancy. Supplying a macro-capacity, fully-redundant, high bandwidth connection for Helsinki Television, the IP link will support the firm's range of broadband Internet services.

The service runs on the Nordic Ring, the fifth, and the largest, of seven, OC-192 self-healing rings in KPNQwest's (kpnqwest.com) EuroRings network. The 6-city fiber-optic network covers 4,500 km and provides high-speed connectivity across Sweden and 54 European business centers on the 25,000 km KPNQwest EuroRings network. The ring is capable of providing more than 100 Terabits per second of macro-capacity.
