webMethods Releases White Paper on Web Services in Finance Industry

📅 April 23, 2002 - Integration software provider webMethods (webmethods.com) said yesterday it had recently issued a white paper that outlined practical methods to plan and deploy Web services to solve business problems in the financial services industry.

The paper, titled "Enterprise Web Services in the Financial Services Industry: Driving New Integration Solutions," presents six scenarios that use Web services spanning the four main segments of the financial services industry: retail banking, wholesale banking, securities and insurance. Example scenarios include using next-generation trading technologies through enterprise Web services, and using CRM synchronization with channel partners via enterprise-level Web Services.
webMethods' integration platform links business processes, enterprise and legacy applications, databases and workflows.
"We're cutting through the hype surrounding Web services to introduce realistic ideas for applying Web services as a means of solving real-world business problems and improving processes within the Financial Services industry," said Darren Oberst, Vice President and General Manager of webMethods' Financial Services Business Unit.
