📅 - Internet content delivery firm Speedera (speedera.com) said today that Playboy.com, a subsidiary of Playboy Enterprises Inc., had selected Speedera to provide secure streaming services to end users worldwide.
"Playboy.com represents one of the premier brands on the Internet today," said Ajit Gupta, CEO of Speedera. "We are pleased to have yet another global operation entrust their streaming needs to us. Our Secure Streaming service offers clear ROI advantages to providers of high-value content." Playboy.com's subscription-based offering, the Playboy Cyber Club, grew by 50 per cent in 2001 and now has more than 100,000 members. Speedera said Playboy.com would use the company to provide "better content control, tighter security, and lower cost." In a separate announcement, Speedera also said it had helped weather portal weather.com to improve the quality of media streams while cutting costs by more than 80 percent. Weather.com provides more than a million streams a month.
