May, 2002 : Riptech Managed Security Protects Government Systems
📅 - Managed security services provider Riptech Inc. (riptech.com) announced on Monday the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule availability of its real-time managed security services.
The company says its managed security services provide agencies across the Federal Government with round-the-clock security and immediate response to network security threats. Riptech says its addition to the GSA Schedule presents an additional procurement mechanism through which the Federal government can access the company's security technology.
Founded in 1998 by Department of Defense security experts, Riptech has played key roles in protecting a number of Federal agencies, including the Federal Aviation Agency, the Security Exchange Commission and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"Riptech features the most mature technology and capability for real-time security monitoring," says Amit Yoran, president and CEO of Riptech. "We have demonstrated a strong track record of protecting clients with the industry's most powerful security services. We are proud that this robust protection is now available to the government through much easier procurement mechanisms. Our real-time monitoring services are available on the GSA Schedule to help government agencies secure their information assets. In addition, our technology and expertise are available to help organizations build security monitoring capabilities in-house."
Riptech says the growth of Internet threats and concerns about homeland security have moved security to the top of Federal agencies? IT and management priority lists. The company says government self-assessments have determined that firewalls and intrusion detection systems alone are not adequate protection. Riptech's service monitors firewalls, virtual private networks, intrusion detection systems and other technology platforms, delivering real-time detection, threat analysis and response.
