📅 May 14, 2002 - Enterprise application outsourcing service provider BlueStar Solutions (bluestarsolutions.com) announced on Monday that it is introducing new short-term services designed around the demand from customers who need a temporary hosting environment for their SAP applications.

?We added this new service offering in response to a growing number of requests from our customers and partners,? says Thomas F Kelly, chairman and CEO of BlueStar Solutions. ?It is a perfect solution for organizations that are in the process of a merger or acquisition or companies that are planning a major systems upgrade or the addition of new software modules.?
BlueStar says its short-term hosting offers customers a 3, 6 or 12 month options, where a typical hosting agreement is for three or more years.
?What makes our short-term hosting offering unique is that we can offer high levels of SAP expertise and high levels of service on a short-term basis because our business is focused on providing outsourcing services specifically for SAP,? says Kelly.
In addition to mergers, acquisitions, upgrades and software extensions, says BlueStar, the short-term model may appeal to customers new to outsourcing as a means to transition into a new hosted model, later converting to a longer, more traditional outsourcing agreement following the trial period.

📅 May 15, 2002 - Interliant Obtains $7.5 Million Loan for Operations - Managed infrastructure services firm Interliant, Inc. (interliant.com) said today it has secured a working loan of $7.5 million from Silicon Valley Bank, a California chartered bank with principal offices in Santa Clara, California. The underlying loan agreement has a term of one year and provides for interest at prime plus two percent on amounts borrowed. The loan is collateralized by a first-priority security interest in the company's personal property. As part of this transaction, Interliant also issued to Silicon Valley Bank a warrant to purchase 1.2 million shares of its common stock at $0.30 per share. The warrant expires five years from the date of issuance.
