May, 2002 : C&W, 360 Software Deliver Flexible Billing Solution
📅 - Telecommunications company Cable & Wireless (cw.com) announced on Wednesday that it has formed an agreement with billing and customer management specialist Software 360 to develop Internet-based customer management solutions for voice and content services.
According to C&W, the solution will provide resellers, content providers and Internet service providers with more effective ways to bill for content.
Software 360, says C&W, provides billing solutions that offer companies the flexibility to bill transactions of any type, whether duration, unit, event or usage-based. Software 360 can present voice, data, mobile and Internet transactions as a single combined invoice.
C&W says it will offer the 360's solution as a managed service suing its global hosting facilities, starting with Swindon, UK. The companies will jointly market the service to C&W's customer base, as well as to new customers.
Cable & Wireless says that it has recently signed agreements with several other value-added service providers including the Tornado Group, Quios and Centrinity in order to offer solutions for digital media delivery, real-time messaging and unified messaging.
"By working with experts in their respective fields, such as Software 360, we are able to offer our customers a range of first-class components, tightly integrated with our broader portfolio," says Andrew McGrath, president, service providers, Cable & Wireless. "We have identified a strong need for flexible billing solutions, especially among IP-based providers seeking new ways to bill for content easily and profitably."
