Jun, 2002 : WebReseller.net Deploys Plesk Server Administrator

webreseller.net logo📅 - Automated Web hosting software developer Plesk Inc. (plesk.com) announced on Tuesday that WebReseller.net (WebReseller.net), a provider of channel opportunities for Web hosting resellers, will deploy the Plesk Server Administrator software throughout its advanced server infrastructure, paving the way for the rapid expansion of its business.
Part of the agreement, says Plesk, is a co-marketing alliance between the two companies. Plesk will strengthen WebReseller.net's technical support with Plesk technicians in the US and Europe, helping the company provide 24x7 support in most time zones. WebReseller.net will promote the launch of PSA, within the channel, through introductory pricing.
"Like a lot of our customers," says Plesk president and CEO George Pappas, "WebReseller.net put a particular emphasis on having the highest possible level of customer support, and we tried to design that into their offering by having different levels of support for different types of customers based on their needs. What we ended up doing was putting together a more integrated relationship which allows us to provide our 24x7 support capabilities directly to their organization."
A big reason for the development of the relationship, says Pappas, was the business and customer needs of WebReseller.net growing beyond the means of its technical support department. "Because their business is growing so strongly," he says, "using our software allows them to grow more efficiently."
To accommodate its 100 percent annual growth rate, says Plesk, WebReseller.net is building out its data center capacity by approximately 400 percent. Along with the build, the company will simultaneously introduce PSA to the channel.
Pappas says the PSA software is particularly suited to an operation such as WebReseller.net?s, which has a variety of relationships with both resellers and regular hosting customers.
"One of the challenges the hosting industry faces," says Pappas, "is that end users have a very wide variety of skill levels. There are two ways our partners combat that. The first is by using Plesk as a product, because we have the cleanest separation of the types of interfaces, meaning that a relatively unskilled end user can get their job done easily and quickly. We also have a more complicated view through which a more skilled administrator can also get their job done more quickly and easily. Step two is organizing your support resources around that behind the scenes."
PSA, says Plesk, will be used to complement WebReseller.net's advanced infrastructure, built on IBM X servers and Intel Pentium 4 processors. Using PSA will allow WebReseller.net to run any number of reseller accounts on a server, as dictated by the system configuration. The company expects PSA to dramatically increase the ROP on its server investment without impacting their performance.
