📅 June 5, 2007 - Application traffic management software developer Zeus Technology (zeus.com) announced on Monday it has named Michael Stewart as VP of sales for North America and Canada.

Stewart joins Zeus Technology from Array Networks, where he served as senior VP of worldwide sales. He has also served as senior VP of sales for SonicWall and has held a number of influential positions at Minerva Networks, Cylink Corporation and Esclate Networks. Highlights of his career include achieving a $40 million sales gain, building the organization's global revenues to 30 percent of its total sales.

He has over 20 years of sales leadership experience with a winning reputation as an international business development executive, working with companies at various stages of growth, including start-up and turnaround, says Zeus.

"Zeus is entering a new phase of growth as we embark on extending our reach into the US market through channel partner development," says Paul Di Leo, CEO of Zeus Technology. "Our rapid growth requires a world-class business development strategy, execution and drive, and Michael brings us a tremendous track record of success and experience."

The company announced last week that it is offering organizations currently using Microsoft Network Load Balancer the opportunity to upgrade to the Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager for Windows software.

📅 Jun 4, 2007 - Sophos Releases Malware Report - Online security firm Sophos (sophos.com) announced on Monday the results of its latest report into malware threats, which reveals that 9,500 infected Web pages were discovered each day during May. The figures show that malware continues to pose a serious threat to Web users, as the number of malware threats increased over April's results. Sophos identified a total of 304,000 Web pages hosting malicious code in May, an increase of 1,000 per day on April's figures.
