📅 - In response to a call by the Telecommunications Workers Union for the resignation of TELUS president and CEO Darren Entwistle and other executives, the company's board of directors issued a statement on Sunday affirming its support for its executive team.
"We fully and completely support Darren Entwistle and the direction he has set for TELUS and we are deeply concerned that the actions of the TWU are having a negative impact on the company," said Brian Canfield, Chairman of the Canadian telecommunications company. The company's board also said it remains supportive of management's efforts to negotiate a new collective agreement with the TWU, reflecting the market and economic climate. The board said if feels that TELUS's executive team has made progress with regard to the company's strategy, and endorsed the company's Operating Efficiency Program.

(microsoft.com) said on Thursday that its $1.3 billion offer for the acquisition of Danish business application ASP Navision AS (navision.com) has been approved in the United Kingdom. According to Microsoft, Patricia Hewitt, the UK secretary of state for trade and industry has decided that the transaction does not need to be referred to the Competition Commission.
