📅 July 16, 2002 - Hosting and Internet services technology advisor RampRate LLC (ramprate.com) announced on Tuesday that it has increased its efforts to bring in service providers and help to provide hassle-free migration solutions to companies suffering from the struggling hosting market.

The company says its mandate of identifying best-of-breed infrastructure technologies and can help hosting customers migrate rapidly from the growing collection of service providers who have left, or are leaving, the business to other established and stable service providers.
RampRate has partnered with vendors in domain management, content delivery networks, disaster recovery and storage and other fields.
"If there was ever a time for triage in this market, that time is now," says Tony Greenberg, CEO of RampRate. "Customers are grappling with technically inferior solutions and wanting to leave service providers because of the radical change in marketplace. Everyone is facing a shortage of people and time. 📅 Jul 15, 2002 - Interoute Buys KPNQwest Assets: Report - British telecommunications company Interoute (Interoute.com -> gtt.net) said on Monday that it has purchased the main assets of bankrupt Dutch carrier KPNQwest's Ebone network, according to a report by Reuters. Sweden's Telia is said to be competing with Dutch telecom firm KPN for the company's remaining assets. KPNQwest trustees reportedly turned down an initial bid by KPN for part of the network. A telecommunications leader in the Nordic region, Telia has reportedly told KPNQwest trustees and creditors that the company is interested in bidding against KPN for parts of the data network. Telia had already purchased parts of the KPNQwest network in France, Germany and Italy.
