Jul 25, 2002 : IBM to Host Ware E-Health Claims Site

📅 July 25, 2002 - Service provider IBM Canada Ltd. (ibm.ca) announced on Thursday that it has been chosen by e-health solution provider Ware Solutions to host its online claims processing system ebill.ca (ebill.ca), and help in the delivery of IT solutions to the healthcare industry.

IBM says its technology allows Ware's solutions to provide the timely online exchange of patient information between care providers, Ministries of Health and insurance companies.
Ware's e-health product suite, says IBM, has also integrated hospital and lab systems, medical and drug reference information from Health Canada, electronic medical records and scheduling functions for care providers.
"Ware is committed to improving primary care provision in Canada, and given the nature of the work it's imperative that Ware's applications be online day in and day out," says Paul Lovell, general manager, e-business hosting, IBM Canada. "IBM's e-business hosting provides the secure and reliable infrastructure Ware's business demands, allowing IBM to merge its technical competencies with those of WARE to deliver advanced healthcare solutions that are unmatched today."
IBM currently hosts ebill.ca, which supports an ASP and locally installed community of approximately 2,000 care providers, from its Calgary data center using xSeries eServers.
