Jul, 2002 : Intewise Provides Web-Based Training to CDF
📅 - Enterprise communications solution provider Interwise (interwise.com) announced on Monday that the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) (fire.ca.gov)has chosen Interwise's Web communication platform to conduct live, Web-based training.
While training more than 750 firefighters across the state, says Interwise, the CDF has saved over $100,000 in training costs in eight months.
The CDF began its statewide training program in November of 2001 in order to share vital fire safety procedures with employees across the state. The original courses were pre-recorded using Interwise technology and hosted on a corporate university Web site for independent downloading and viewing.
Since then, the organization has expanded its training program to include both pre-recorded and live sessions, while implementing a rollout of the Interwise system to 400+ urban and wild-land fire stations.
Training is a critical part of our day-to-day operation and an online communications platform gives us an economical solution to reach hundreds of firefighters about important safety tips, equipment guidelines and emergency procedures," says Dale Eberhardt, CDF Division Chief. "Now we are able to able to offer more training course, to more staff members, faster than ever before."
