Aug, 2002 : Redundant Networks Opens San Jose Office

📅 - Secure computing network services company Redundant Networks (redundant.com) announced on Friday that it has opened its Silicon Valley office at Gateway Place in San Jose, California.

The company says it operates a resilient computing utility network from two colocation facilities, one in the Reno Tahoe Tech Center in Reno, Nevada and one in the Research Triangle Park area in Raleigh, North Carolina.
"There has been incredible turbulence in the data center business," says Madison Laird, CEO of Redundant Networks. "Nowhere has this instability been felt more dramatically than in Silicon Valley where choosing a network services partner can seem like walking through a minefield. We opened an office in the Valley to help us demonstrate a secure, resilient alternative to network services based here in California."
According to research organization Tier 1 Research, more than 1,000,000 square feet of raised-floor capacity in California, in over 40 data centers belonging to more than 25 providers has been decommissioned in the past two years.
The sales and marketing organization for Redundant Networks will be centered in San Jose, says the company, and will continue to work with companies like Hitachi Data Systems, Veritas, Cisco Systems and Avcom to present seminars in the Bay Area on topics like business continuance, disaster recovery planning and mass storage.
