Feb 6, 2003 : HP, InSiteOne Sign Five-Year Agreement

📅 - Computer services provider HP (hp.com) and digital image storage solution provider InSiteOne Inc. (insiteone.com) announced on Thursday that they have signed a five-year technology and services agreement, valued at about $55 million, to deliver a medical imaging and archiving solution to the global healthcare industry.

The solution, say the companies, is a fee-for-usage service for short-term on-site and long-term off-site archiving with real-time access to images like MRIs, CT scans, nuclear medicine and ultrasound. The solution is built on InSiteOne's InDex application software on HP ProLiant servers running Red Hat Linux software, HP StorageWorks storage area networks and HP CarePAQ warranty extensions. HP will also provide installation and support services.
"The technologies of HP and InSiteOne that are brought together through this agreement provide healthcare organizations with improved access, portability and security for their medical images," said Ken Jarvis, director, healthcare solutions, HP Enterprise Systems Group. "Treatment advantages such as these enhance the healthcare environment for both the patient and the practitioner and, consequently, the chances for a positive outcome."
According to the companies, two customers have deployed InSiteOne's InDex application on HP technology and services platform, including the Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC and the Yavapi Installation in Prescott, Arizona.
