Mar, 2003 : HP Debuts Ultra-Dense Multi-Processor Server
📅 - Computer systems developer HP (hp.com) announced on Monday that it has introduced a new industry-standard HP ProLiant server developed in response to customer demand for reduced power consumption and cost of ownership, the HP ProLiant DL560.
According to HP, the ProLiant DL560 server combines the latest technologies for critical enterprise applications, including mail and messaging, clustered applications and enterprise resource planning, with the industry's lowest power requirements and a space-saving design.
HP says the ProLiant DL560 server is the first ultra-dense machine from a tier-one vendor offering scalable four-processor performance in a 2U design. The company says the new server offers customers another choice when making four-processor server purchases, building on HP's 44.7 percent unit shipment market share lead for four-processor servers.
"The new ProLiant DL560 further enhances HP's premier line of dense servers," said James Mouton, vice president, platforms, HP Industry Standard Servers. "Using ProLiant servers, HP can help customers build an adaptive infrastructure unmatched in manageability, serviceability, availability and cost efficiency to keep pace with their changing business needs and deliver a new level of return on information technology."
