Apr 11, 2003 : IBM Helps Developers Win SMB Customers

📅 - Computing service provider IBM (IBM.com) announced on Thursday that it has introduced the ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to provide mid-market independent software vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help them meet the needs of small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers.

IBM says it understands that SMB customers have different technology needs and challenges that require solutions delivered through partnerships in the software community. Instead of competing with its partners' offerings, says IBM, the company collaborates with ISVs to offer solutions designed to meet SMB requirements.
The new initiative is another component of the IBM Small and Medium Business Advantage initiative, which includes a $500 million investment in channel enablement activities, incentives and demand generation tools to help business partners build their profit potential.
"IBM is committed to partnering with and providing our ISV partners worldwide with the resources and open foundation to develop applications that meet the requirements of midmarket customers," said Buell Duncan, general manager, IBM Developer Relations. "IBM recognizes the unique needs of SMBs and will collaborate closely with ISVs to support their development and marketing efforts, helping them expand their reach into this high growth market."
