Aug 25, 2003 : Gateway Launches New 960X Server

📅 - Gateway (gateway.com) launched its new 960X Server last week for small and medium-sized businesses or workgroups within larger organizations.

The 960X features various redundancy attributes that, according to the company, enable it to achieve maximum uptime.
The 960X features dual Intel Xeon processors, up to 8GB of ECC (error-correcting) memory, four ultra 320 SCSI hot-swap drive bays, an optional redundant 450W power supply, two 5 1/4" available peripheral bays, six PCI slots (four of which are PCI-X) and integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet for networked environments. The server comes standard in a tower case but can also be converted into a 5U rack-mount option.
"The Gateway 960X is a mid-range server that delivers high-performance features," said Scott Weinbrandt, general manager of Gateway's systems & networking products division. "It's an ideal product for smaller companies and workgroups looking for value at a competitive price - with advanced capabilities such as redundant power and hot-swappable drives."
