level3.com logo📅 - Level 3 Communications, Inc. (level3.com) said today it plans to expand its European network in Scandinavia. The company expects to begin offering services in Copenhagen next month and is increasing its network capacity into Stockholm.

"Our existing and prospective customers have been encouraging us to undertake this expansion, which will afford them even greater access to the operational, provisioning and cost advantages of our network," said Brady Rafuse, president of Level 3's European operations. "Scandinavia is an increasingly important source of demand for telecommunications services, and we look forward to enhancing our ability to serve customers in that region."
The company also announced it has signed an agreement to provide network services to Powerline Communication (ripe.net), an ISP and Web hosting provider based in Denmark. Powerline will use Level 3's CrossRoads service, which connects Level 3's customers and global network with the public Internet.
Level 3's fiber optic network spans 22,500 miles and serves 17 of the largest markets in Europe in addition to 66 markets across North America.
