Global optical fiber services provider Telia Carrier, with network infrastructure spanning Europe, North America, and Asia, is rebranded as Arelion. The rebranding comes after Swedish investor Polhem Infra, a company wholly owned by Swedish Pension Funds, paid about 900 million euros to acquire Telia Carrier in October 2020.
Over the past 30 years as Telia Carrier, Arelion constructed its global Internet backbone, AS1299, which now powers a significant part of all Internet routes.
