😁 I've been using their service for four years now. Frankly, it's not perfect, but they strike a very good balance; they've found the right balance between service and price, and their VPS offers great value for money

😠 Do not use their hosting or VPS. The VPS is extremely unstable and often goes down and does not work, making the website unusable. When you contact after-sales service, the response is very slow, they do not solve the problem, and they always evade responsibility.

😁 I have a VPS with HostDare and I have nothing but good stuff to say for them. I am happy with my VPS performance and speed. It is serving great for my Teamspeak server and a few simple gameservers. My players are happy, so I am happy.

(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain RegistrationHostDare is a budget-focused hosting provider operated by Hostsymbol Pte. Ltd., with a clear emphasis on virtual servers and network performance rather than just traditional shared web hosting. Their catalogue revolves around KVM VPS in several flavours, including China-optimized CN2 GIA plans in Los Angeles, Japan NVMe VPS on Softbank transit, cheap NVMe VPS in multiple locations, plus SSD-based shared hosting and a small lineup of unmanaged dedicated servers. Shared hosting and domains are there, but the identity of the brand is very much "low-cost VPS with good routes and decent hardware."
They target technically comfortable users, resellers and performance-sensitive projects that still have to stick to a tight budget, rather than beginners looking for hand-holding or fully managed services.
Hosting & VPS Services
HostDare still maintains two shared hosting families, but they sit alongside a much larger VPS portfolio.
On the shared side, there are NVMe SSD plans powered by DirectAdmin and SSD plans powered by cPanel. The DirectAdmin NVMe range (Basic, Deluxe, Ultimate) starts around 15 GB NVMe and scales up to 200 GB, with unmetered bandwidth, 10 to unlimited hosted websites, unlimited email and databases on the higher tiers, Softaculous installers, free migration and 24/7 support. The cPanel SSD line (Starter, Professional, Business) uses "pure SSD" storage and unmetered bandwidth, with the starter plan restricted to one domain and the higher tiers allowing unlimited addon domains and including a free domain on annual terms. CloudLinux isolation, weekly backups and standard webmail/POP/IMAP features make these plans familiar to anyone used to shared hosting.
The VPS catalogue is where HostDare puts most of its energy. The baseline is a series of cheap NVMe KVM VPS plans, with 1 to 6 vCPUs, RAM starting around 512–768 MB and going up to 32 GB, NVMe storage from 10 GB up to 800 GB, and monthly bandwidth allowances that reach 20 TB on the largest plans. These are unmanaged KVM servers with full root access, instant deployment, basic DDoS mitigation (around 3 Gbps) and a choice of common Linux distributions, with Windows available on some larger configurations if the customer supplies a license.
Those basic NVMe VPS lines are mirrored in specific locations:
Los Angeles (USA) / Tokyo (Japan) / Sofia (Bulgaria)
Each location has its own test IPs and bandwidth profiles. The Los Angeles and Tokyo ranges tend to offer 200–500 Mbps or 1 Gbps ports, while Sofia stands out with very high bandwidth caps (up to 200 TB per month) on 1 Gbps connectivity. All follow the same KVM model: unmanaged, full root, instant setup.
Above that, HostDare runs premium routes for users who care deeply about connectivity into Asia. The CN2 GIA KVM VPS range in Los Angeles is specifically aimed at customers in mainland China; plans route traffic via China Telecom’s CN2 GIA and other premium carriers, promising more stable and faster paths back to China. These are available on both HDD and NVMe storage, including AMD-based variants, and are sold as premium China-optimized instances.
There is also a Japan NVMe KVM VPS line located in Osaka, built on Intel hardware and Softbank IP transit. Here the focus is stable connectivity into Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific market, with smaller uplink caps per VPS (tens of Mbps up to around 100 Mbps) and bandwidth allowances from a few hundred GB to several TB per month, again backed by dedicated IPv4 with the option to add more addresses.
For customers who want an entire machine, HostDare offers a small set of unmanaged dedicated servers in the US. These are older but very affordable configurations such as an Intel Atom 2758 (8 cores, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, 10 TB bandwidth) and an Intel Xeon E3-1240v2 (4 cores, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 10 TB bandwidth). They are delivered with root SSH/SFTP, options for extra IPs and disks, and are clearly positioned as budget, self-managed hardware for experienced users rather than fully managed enterprise servers.
💰 Price & Cost
Pricing is one of HostDare’s main selling points. Shared hosting starts as low as $1.99 per month for both DirectAdmin NVMe and cPanel SSD plans, with mid-tier packages around $3.99 per month and the top shared tier at roughly $5.99 per month. For that, customers get unmetered bandwidth, generous storage and multi-site capability on the higher tiers, which is very competitive compared with many mainstream hosts.
VPS pricing is aggressively low, especially on smaller plans billed annually or quarterly. Entry-level cheap NVMe KVM VPS plans typically start around $25.99 per year for a small 1 vCPU instance, with mid-range options priced in the low double-digits per quarter or month, and the largest configurations reaching into the high tens of dollars per month. Location-specific NVMe plans in Los Angeles, Tokyo and Sofia follow a similar pattern, with slight adjustments depending on bandwidth and routing.
The premium CN2 GIA and Japan NVMe ranges are more expensive, reflecting the better connectivity and residential-quality routes into China and Japan, but they are still modest compared with many niche Asia-focused providers.
Dedicated servers are simple: the Atom box is around $75 per month and the Xeon E3 model around $85 per month, each with 10 TB monthly transfer.
Refunds and money-back guarantees are an area where customers need to read the fine print. Marketing for SSD web hosting mentions a 30-day money-back guarantee and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The front page also calls out a "3 Day Money Back Guarantee" across the platform. The Terms of Service, however, are more restrictive: they describe a 3-day money-back window on certain services and explicitly list many others as non-refundable.
VPS pages are clearer: they repeat the 3-day refund policy, with conditions such as a valid reason, a small processing fee and automatic refusal if more than 20% of the monthly bandwidth allocation has already been used. Dedicated servers, domains, SSL certificates, IP leases and other add-ons are generally non-refundable.
Practically speaking, VPS customers have three days to test before being locked in, and shared hosting buyers should assume the stricter policy applies, regardless of older marketing text that mentions 30 days.
Prices are quoted in US dollars, and card payments are clearly supported; the billing system also shows an assortment of gateway icons, but credit cards are the only method that is explicitly confirmed in the policy text.
🏢 Data Center
HostDare does not publish glossy data centre profiles or long lists of certifications; instead, details are scattered across product pages and the order system.
The main VPS locations are:
* Los Angeles, USA – for CN2 GIA KVM VPS and cheap NVMe/HDD KVM plans, with 1 Gbps uplinks on nodes and CN2 GIA / CU / CM routes into China on the premium lines.
* Osaka, Japan – for premium Japan NVMe KVM VPS on Softbank transit, targeting low-latency connectivity to Japan and nearby markets.
* Tokyo, Japan – for another set of cheap NVMe KVM VPS.
* Sofia, Bulgaria – for high-bandwidth NVMe KVM VPS aimed at European or bandwidth-heavy workloads.
Node descriptions mention Supermicro enterprise hardware, Intel processors, 1 Gbps connectivity and NVMe SSD storage for relevant products, together with basic DDoS protection around 3 Gbps. Shared hosting references SSD or NVMe storage, CloudLinux, weekly backups and a 99.9% uptime target, but does not spell out cities or data centre brands.
There is no public information on Tier III/Tier IV classifications, ISO 27001 or similar. The infrastructure story is built around routes, bandwidth and storage technology rather than formal certifications; customers who require audited facilities will need to request more detail directly.
✍️ Customer Support
Support is offered on the WHMCS-based client area at bill.hostdare.com. Customers open tickets for technical issues, billing questions and sales enquiries, and there is a knowledgebase, announcements section and network status page. The site advertises 24/7/365 support and notes on VPS pages that the team will "try our best to resolve all issues within 24 hours," which gives a rough idea of their internal response targets.
An international phone number and sales email are published, but technical support is clearly designed to flow through tickets rather than phone calls or live chat. There is no mention of paid priority support tiers or managed service add-ons; VPS and dedicated servers are sold as unmanaged infrastructure, with customers responsible for operating systems, software and security, while HostDare takes care of node stability and network.
For experienced users comfortable managing their own Linux or Windows instances, this is quite normal. Less technical customers may find the model demanding, especially if they expect the host to manage application-level issues or provide step-by-step server administration.
🔨 Control Panel
On shared hosting, HostDare sticks to familiar tools. The SSD shared plans use cPanel with CloudLinux, Softaculous, classic webmail options and the usual suite of domain, email, database and file management features. The NVMe shared plans run on DirectAdmin, presented as a standard control panel for domain, email, database and DNS management. For most users coming from other hosts, both environments will feel straightforward.
For VPS, HostDare offers a separate VPS control panel where customers can reboot, reinstall, power on/off and perform basic lifecycle actions. Full root SSH or RDP access is included, and a wide range of Linux distributions is available at install time. Some plans allow Windows Server if the customer provides their own license.
The client area doubles as a management dashboard for domains, hosting plans, VPS services and invoices, and includes a multi-language interface with dozens of language options, which is a small but useful bonus for international customers and resellers.
🎯 Conclusion
HostDare is a VPS-centric, low-cost provider that tries to balance budget pricing with respectable performance and network quality. The combination of CN2 GIA connectivity in Los Angeles, Softbank-based Japan NVMe VPS, extra nodes in Tokyo and Sofia, 1 Gbps node uplinks, NVMe storage and generous bandwidth quotas makes them interesting for Asia-facing projects, resellers, labs and bandwidth-heavy experiments that cannot justify the prices of large enterprise clouds.Their shared hosting is straightforward and resource-rich for the money, with unmetered bandwidth and decent allocations of disk space and websites, but it is clearly not the centrepiece of the brand. The unmanaged nature of their VPS and dedicated products, the very short and conditional refund windows, and the lack of detailed data-centre certifications mean that HostDare is not trying to be a fully managed or compliance-driven provider.
They fit best for technically capable users, developers and resellers who understand unmanaged VPS, care about routes and bandwidth, and are comfortable living within a three-day refund period while they test. For mission-critical workloads, strict compliance requirements or customers who expect long money-back guarantees and managed service levels, it is sensible to read the Terms carefully and consider whether a more conservative, managed host might be a better match.

😠 I have had nothing but one problem after the next with this company. Not once have I been able to log into my cpanel because the cpanel will not load. At first I was told it was because my ISP was blocked by their firewall and they gave me reason but claimed they fixed it. Next I was told it was I had to many failed login attempts and I was locked out. Well it wasn't me due the fact that page will not load up for me to even use the user name or password that they provide for when you first set up the account. Then I was told that my account was locked due it being hacked into. When I questioned how when it was new domain name and new hosting company, I was responded with that issue is on my end and that there is nothing they can do. I am still trying to get my money back.
