ANNO Internet was founded in South Africa in 1996 and is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Today, their growth focus is set squarely on the Canadian and U.S. markets.

ANNO Internet uses SoftLayer and The Planet data centres in Dallas, Texas, for their Linux and Windows server connectivity. Their South African service is provided by the Verizon data centre in Cape Town.

The founding partners have since moved on to other business ventures. And Anno Internet has moved on too, literally. In 2003, we moved our office to British Columbia, Canada. Under the helm of Stephen Pienaar (President), our business got a more international flavour. We continue to maintain a close connection to our South African roots with more than half of new clients still coming from the Rainbow Nation.

March 13, 2025 - Internally, we are mitigating problems with email delivery by temporarily using 1.1.1.1 as network resolver. Somehow, Cloudflare has been able to keep DNS records in cache for longer than other resolvers. More on our status page:more info

March 13, 2025 - The .ZA namespace (and most notably .CO.ZA domains) are limping under a DDoS attack. This is creating significant problems with website visibility and email delivery problems. Good luck and much Red Bull to the @ZaRegistry Network Team that is working on resolving the issue.
