😠 I am so disappointed!
After a few years of good relationship, everything went south when they would not respond to my phone, email etc.
Now I can't even move my files to other hosting company because I can't notify them about my plan and discontinue automatic payment plan.
After reading the review of others, I am absolutely mad that they can get away with this and leave me and many others with running businesses in jeopardy!

😠 addr.com's customer service is HORRIBLE
ADDR.COM was a reasonably good host for my website for about 10 years ... until, in late 2013, incessant technical problems appeared, reappeared and wouldn't go away. Incoming e-mail simply disappeared, or never arrived. My website was up, down, up, down, down, slow, up, etc. With about two exceptions, MANY of my attempted phone and e-mail complaints were answered by an "autoresponder" and ignored by real people. The exceptions? Five or six months (yes, months) after I sent 40+ complaint messages, somebody at addr.com finally did reply via e-mail. He explained they had been busy, apologized for the delay, had no idea what my problem was, and suggested that I try again to contact them if I still needed assistance.
That poor excuse of an offer to help came WAY Too Late. Months earlier I had switched to a new web host (ARVIXE.COM).
Five months ago my 2-year prepaid "subscription" for ADDR.COM's services ran out. Obviously I did not renew for another 2-year term. [read more...]

😠 The worst, avoid at all costs.
I had been happy with Addr.com for many years until one day I found my site to be down. I contacted them to inquire why, and was informed that they disabled my entire site because large amounts of spam had been sent through it. I assured them I had not been sending spam, I checked all my systems, the 2-3 users I had set up to use e-mail, and changed all the passwords just to be safe.
A week later, I again discovered that my site was off line, again contacted them and was again told that they had disabled my site because of spam. A little frustrated this time, I asked tech support for the e-mail username through which the spam was being sent, but they couldn't tell me... which clearly says that they had no idea where it was coming from or even if it was coming through my account at all. I again changed all my passwords and requested that they not disable my site again for this issue unless they specifically determine that the spam was emanating from an e-mail account under my [read more...]

U.S. court stops Web hosting operation, FTC alleges fraud - A U.S. district court in Minneapolis has stop the operation of a Web hosting service that advertised services for inexpensive flat fees and then billed unauthorized charges of up to $20,000 US onto consumers' credit cards for imaginary "excess bandwidth" use.
At the Federal Trade Commission's request, the district court has halted the
illegal billing, frozen the defendants assets and appointed a receiver to
oversee the business, pending trial.
The FTC suit names Bryan Kruchten, doing business as Page Creators and
Trinity Host, LLC. The Web sites have been disabled.
According to the FTC, the defendants used the Internet to advertise
"discount" Web hosting services, including domain name registry, Web site
design and customer care for monthly service fees of $10 to $15 US.
Consumers provided credit card numbers so they could be billed. The
defendants allegedly later charged many of their clientele huge additional

😠 Addr.com = ZERO Customer service
Have used ADDR.COM as host for my website for 10+ years. Price seems reasonable, FTP works fine, service has been OK for most of that period, except:
- In Feb 2013, I emailed 3 questions about sub-domains. 4 weeks later addr.com replied with an apology for the delay plus a vague answer to just one of my questions.
- The addr.com billing department is VERY disorganized. Over the years, bills arrived asking for more (or less) money than was due. Bills continued to arrive even after payment was US Mailed 4 weeks earlier. I refuse to pay by credit card because addr.com grabs renewal dollars without warning, without explanation, and without asking first.
- Suddenly, on 11/06/2013, my website disappeared, my control panel would not allow me to log in, and my email forwarding data was deleted. Aarrgh! I complained online without success. After 12 hours of frustration, I tried (for the 15th time) to see my site and log in, but that failed. So, I telephoned & explained the problem. [read more...]

😠 Addr is a dead hosting company, no response more than a week
I am a ADDR user since 1999. Everything went OK with some minor problems. In general I was satisfied about ADDR till about one year ago.
Since then, live chat, very seldom you find one on duty. When you call, always saying we are encountered high traffic and can not access anyone.
I am not able to get my company mails for about 10 days. It is critical that we have to get all the company mail system running.
I have been trying hard during the last 2 days and this is the end---I will not use this company any more.
I think they are a dead fish now.

😠 2012 has been a bad year for SSL installs
During 2012 SSL installs can not get done. Service this year has gone very bad for us. We are a Miva store user.
Now Addr.com was a good hosting company for years.
Then, late 2011 it all started to go down hill.
Addr.com is a Very Poor Host Service Provider.

😃 14+ years and still fast
I've been with addr for approx 14 years now (since they opened) and while other providers offer a more user-friendly control panel, I've never had an issue with addr load times or up times like on other shared hosts. There custom service is good and while average response time is probably 12 hours via email, the always implement the feature you request (subdomain, sql database, etc). If you want to run ruby on rails, have cpanel access to manage subdomains, and one-click access to a wordpress install look somewhere else. If you can set that up yourself and speed and stability are paramount, then this is a great service.

😠 Their security is terrible; my site was thoroughly hacked. My content was wiped out and replaced with hundreds of folders and sub-folders of hacker material.
ADDR decided put my account on hold - which was basically denying me access, yet leaving the hacker material online free to be used as a phishing site. |ADDR never notified me. It took me 6 weeks to find out my site was offline. They canceled the so-called hold on the site, and told me to clean up. But I could NOT - the hackers had changed the permissions such that I could not delete their files, and accessing the File Manager through the Cpanel gave system errors.
Unbelievably, their live help was hanging up on me when I would tell them my files could not be deleted by me, and the control panel was a system error page!
They would not
(1) restore my content from backup
(2) delete the hacker's files
(3) refund me the 8 months of unused hosting fees when I decided to ditch them.

ADDR has been horrible. After working with them for over four months they stopped contact with us. We have been left with no way to access the work that has been done. They took our money and wasted our time with absolutely no results that we can use. Terrible! They should be ashamed of their unprofessionalism. I am left with no other conclusion but that they are a scam and a rip off. Our business has been left abandoned. Outrageous!

😠 I hosted with addr for more than a year without any problems. Then when my Web site was hacked and my domain name was sending out spam and my blog was blocked, basically just when I really needed them, addr costumer service was non-responsive. I waited for two hours over the weekend on hold for customer service (it's supposed to be 24/7) and no one picked up although it said the wait time was five minutes. Same thing yesterday. Meanwhile my site had been compromised. The only way I could start to remedy the problem was to switch hosts.

😠 I was a hosting customer for one domain back in 2002. I moved my domain hosting to another provider in 2005 and closed my account. Fortunately I always paid by check so I didn't have to worry about them charging my credit card. To this day I still receive past due notices from this company via email. I ignore them knowing that this method is just part of their scam. Stay away from them.

😠 I was with this company for over 10 years. All seemed ok until I asked if I could point another domain name to my account. They charged me an extra $5 per month without my permission then wouldnt refund when I pulled them up. I then tried to cancel my account using their web form and all of a sudden they wouldnt respond to my emails. They continued to debit my credit card after I had cancelled the account and clearly instructed them not to take any more money out. I eventually had to get my bank to block them.

😠 Two years after canceling hosting I am starting to receive emails from them asking for payment and telling me the account is being sent to a collection agency.
No one in billing support at addr.com has authority to close the case, and can only repeat policy statements about the situation that must be followed.
Two years ago when my annual renewal came up, I decided to switch to another hosting company. I called addr.com sales as a courtesy to let them know I was leaving. The phone call was friendly and the cancellation taken. When I hung up, I thought my relationship with addr.com was over.
Now, two years later, I find out that company policy requires cancellation be done differently than by phone. The person I talked to did not tell me that when I canceled two years ago over the phone.

😠 addr.com is the worst hosting company ever.
addr does not respond to emails but claims to offer 24x7 support.
addr also claims to offer domain support but will not offer any.
addr has improperly set up DNS servers and will not correct the problem or give us the password so that we can correct it.
It can also be noted that addr has accepted money to host our site for 3 years.
addr.com plans also appear to be costly for a site that does not inclued cpanel, mysql or PHP
