📅 June 7, 2004 - XO Communications Inc. (xo.com ) announced on Monday that it had named Barbara Branaman vice president and general manager of its hosting business unit. The announcement coincides with XO Communication's re-launch of its Concentric brand for shared Web hosting services.

"We are pleased to promote Barbara to her new role as vice president and general manager of our hosting business unit," says Tom Cady, chief marketing officer of XO Communications. "As we embark on re-launching the Concentric brand we expect continued success as she orchestrates the efforts of the engineering, finance, marketing, operations, and sales teams to address the hosting needs of today's growing businesses."
Branaman will be influential in designing the strategic marketing and partnership programs needed to increase Concentric's market share among small and medium businesses through innovative business-grade hosting solutions. In an effort to fully market and sell online, the solutions are aimed at providing SMBs with greater value through performance and security.
Since she started at XO Communications in 1998, Branaman has held various marketing positions, including group manager for small and medium business hosting and Web manager of user experience. She holds an MBA from Thunderbird.
