📅 - Web hosting provider PowerVPS.com (powervps.com) announced on Thursday that it has launched a virtual dedicated server plan priced at $9.99 per month. The company said the package delivers Web hosting that is "functionally equal" to a dedicated server. The virtual server comes with full root access and the Confixx control panel.
PowerVPS.com's virtual dedicated servers deploy SWsoft's (sw-soft.com) virtualization software Virtuozzo running on enterprise-level Dell (dell.com) hardware. Virtualization software partitions a single dedicated server into multiple virtual servers that behave exactly like stand-alone dedicated servers. The company said the $9.99 server is the lowest-priced in the industry. "Confixx plays a huge part in allowing us to deliver such a great value package at such a low price point," says Jake Whitfield, CEO of PowerVPS. "It is, without exception, the leanest Web panel on the market in terms of the resources it uses."
