Jul 29, 2004 : Exchange @ 200 Paul Supports OpNet

📅 - Colocation provider eXchange @ 200 Paul (e200paul.com) said on Wednesday that it will continue its financial support of OpNet (opnetwork.org), a non-profit organization that provides technology access and employment for low income families in the San Francisco Bay area. OpNet provides free training in Web design and programming and career development and job placement services for graduates of its programs.

"Exchange is a long-time supporter of OpNet, and has not only provided financial support to the program for several years in a row but has also provided career opportunities to our graduates," says Elizabeth Echols, CEO of OpNet. "Exchange's donation this year will support scholarships to underprivileged young people in Hunters Point and Bay View, giving them the skills necessary to participate in and make contributions to San Francisco's digital economy. On behalf of the young people who will benefit from eXchange's continued support of OpNet, I would like to express our deep appreciation."
OpNet places 80 percent of its entry-level graduates in technology positions.
"OpNet does extremely valuable work in our community by helping talented young people develop critical skills that become the foundation for successful careers in the technology industry," says John Wilson, president and CEO of eXchange @ 200 Paul. "Two of eXchange's employees are graduates of OpNet, and they exemplify the qualities that make OpNet graduates so successful: intelligence, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence. eXchange is proud to support OpNet and the efforts of its students, and it is rewarding to hear so many success stories about the achievements of its graduates."
