📅 - Equant (equant.com), a provider of global communications infrastructure services for multinational businesses, announced on Wednesday that it had appointmed Benoit Merel to the position of chief financial officer. Starting September 10, 2004, Merel will replace Jacques Kerrest who is leaving Equant to pursue other opportunities.
Merel brings to Equant a strong international background in the telecom industry, having held several executive finance positions in the past. He joins Equant from France Telecom Group where he was the head of the Controlling Department since January 2000. He has also held several positions at France Telecom and at the audit firm Mazars, where he managed significant financial aspects, such as controlling, long term planning, budgeting and financial reporting. Merel will remain acting CFO until the appointment of a new CFO.
