At the same time, the company announced its role as a founding member of the new Internet Security Alliance, which is designed to enhance the information security of the larger Internet community. The ISA is a collaborative effort between Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute and its CERT Coordination Center, as well as the Electronic Industries Alliance, a collection of trade associations.

Exodus's new managed gateway-to-gateway VPN security offering is an expansion of its existing suite of VPN design and deployment services. The new service is designed to extend the reach of Exodus's data centers by providing a fast, secure method for deploying intranet VPNs. Exodus's security team of more than 80 experts dedicated to firewall and VPN installation backs all of the company's VPN services.
The company's Cyber Attack Management Service is designed to provide detection of security intrusions and fast assistance from security engineers.
The CAMS 2.0 strengthens the previous offering by adding an Incident Response feature, as well as Content Integrity Monitoring, which verifies that directories and files on the host computer have not changed. The service includes 120,000 integrity comparisons per day of system critical files residing on a host computer.
Exodus's new managed extranet services, allow customers to access applications from anywhere on the Internet. The service supports information exchange, as well as processes that allow for partners suppliers and customers to collaborate in large numbers online.
According to Exodus, the its range of security solutions is unmatched in the hosting industry. The company says it understands e-commerce and e-business security needs on a local and global basis, and has extensive experience implementing solutions.
The company also says it is broadening its security team, consisting of nearly 300 security specialists. The new security services are adding to an already comprehensive array of network and systems defenses, including firewalls, extranets, and OS hardening, which help prevent intrusion by creating barriers to entry.
