Feb 1, 2006 : Web Site Monitoring Firm Adds Station

📅 - Web site and network monitoring company Dotcom-Monitor (dotcom-monitor.com) announced on Tuesday it has just added its newest Web server monitoring station in Sydney, Australia, bringing its total number of monitoring stations to 10.

"Companies need to know how their Web sites respond to customer usage," says Vadim Mazo, CEO of Dotcom-Monitor. "Adding the Sydney monitoring station means they will now be alerted if their Web site is inaccessible or slow to Australian customers."

The Sydney monitoring station is a robot that visits customers' Web sites, simulating a human visitor, and tests functions such as general page loading, forms and shopping carts.

Dotcom-Monitor says remote Web server performance monitoring helps companies to respond quickly to emergencies, such as an order form not working, and helps them plan for long-term upgrades. Each year, an estimated $20 to $40 billion in lost revenue is attributed to users who abandon slow loading Web sites.

In December 2005, Dotcom-Monitor opened its ninth monitoring station, located in Frankfurt, Germany.
