📅 April 11, 2006 - IT automation software provider Opsware (opsware.com) announced on Tuesday that it has introduced Opsware Server Automation System, providing new capabilities specifically designed to simplify the management of Windows-centric IT environments.

There has been significant growth of Windows in the data center, increasing compliance standards and escalating security vulnerabilities, creating the need for a more efficient way of managing Windows security and compliance.

Opsware SAS enables organizations to meet these needs through a new automated operations model based on advanced patch management capabilities, deep configuration-level compliance with granular system auditing, and server lockdown to prevent unauthorized changes.

Red Hat is paying approximately 40 percent in cash and the rest in stock for JBoss. JBoss has long been rumoured to be acquired by a number of different heavyweight companies including IBM.
