Arelion Completes 1,069km IP Transmission with Cisco 800G ZR+ Optics
📅 - Arelion has successfully completed a field test of Cisco 800G ZR+ Coherent pluggable optical modules in Cisco 8000 series routers powered by Cisco Silicon One on its long-haul route between Stockholm, Sweden, and Hamburg, Germany. IP transmission of 800 Gbps across 1,069 kilometers was shown in the study, offering more cost reductions than presently used technology.
Cisco 800G ZR+ pluggables would enable Arelion to fully exploit the port capacity of Cisco's next-generation routers while lowering CAPEX and OPEX expenses by 66% and 95%, respectively.
