NIST Releases Worlds First Post-Quantum Cryptography Standards
📅 - The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released new quantum cybersecurity algorithms to safeguard data against possible quantum computing powered attacks - as the field of quantum computing advances quickly. Were talking about the first three post-quantum cryptography standards in the world, which include two algorithms created by IBM in partnership with their industry partners.
Three post-quantum cryptographic algorithms are included in the standards; two of them, ML-KEM (formerly known as CRYSTALS-Kyber) and ML-DSA (formerly known as CRYSTALS-Dilithium), were created by IBM researchers in association with a number of business and academic partners.
