#Tencent Transmits Single-Wavelength 600Gbit/s Signals Over Its OPC-4 Open Line System
📅 - Tencent (intl.cloud.tencent.com) has successfully transmitted single-wavelength 600Gbit/s signals over its OPC-4 open line system (OLS) using the ADVA FSP 3000 CloudConnect TeraFlex solution. This trial would be a first for the Chinese market and a milestone for metro data center interconnect (DCI) networks.
The trial leveraged ADVA's FSP 3000 TeraFlex hyperscale DCI technology, which features software-defined optics with "plug-and-play" simplicity. By transporting 600Gbit/s per wavelength over an open 100km OLS, Tencent is highlighting the value of disaggregated solutions to "cost-effectively" meet the growing bandwidth needs of metro data center interconnect infrastructure.

The core Qixing data center facilities have been deployed inside tunneled caves drilled inside a hill of about 100 meters high.
The new mega data center will include more than 30,000 square meters of tunneled caves, while the total data center area covers about 513,000 square meters. The Qixing data center design would take advantage of the area's chilly weather and create a natural cooling system for the servers inside this facility. Advanced building technologies were used to shorten the construction time, according to Tencent's management.
