📅 - The Wall Street Journal has reported that Rackspace may be sold to a private equity firm very soon. The shared of the company have gone up nearly 17% and the San Antonio based company has been in talks with a private equity firm putting a value of $4 billion on the company.
Rackspace was exploring the same option two years ago, but didn't sell. However, they have expanded their portfolio since and may be ready to sell now.

📅 - Leadership Team for GoDaddy Gains a New CFO - Recently, GoDaddy announced Ray Winborne as the chief financial officer. Former CFO, Scott Wagner has been promoted to President and COO of GoDaddy.
Winborne was the CFO of First Data in Atlanta and part of the senior financial leadership team at AT&T and Delta Airlines before joining GoDaddy.
Wagner will be responsible for the customer growth operations and revenue of GoDaddy and had held the dual role of COO/CFO since 2013. Both Winborne and Wagner will report to Blake Irving, CEO of GoDaddy.

📅 - Changing your Password Frequently Doesn’t Keep you Safer - While we've all been told to change our passwords regularly and force our employees to do so, it doesn't keep you safer. According to the Federal Trade Commission chief technologist Lorrie Cranor, frequently changing your passwords regularly doesn't make you safer online. Cranor challenged the position on passwords and she won by using research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Carleton University.
Due to this new information both the US government and the FTC are slowly adapting. Some of the employees that used to change passwords regularly now have no need to do so.

📅 - Data Center Water Worries - As summer grows long, so can a water drought. That has some investors worried about data centers.
Data centers, get hot. Real hot. And to keep them from over heating, hundreds of millions of gallons of water will be pumped through a data center in a year to keep the computer systems cool so they don't over heat.
Heavy water usage like that is troubling to some investors, especially in areas that may already be prone to water shortages, mainly tech-heavy California.

📅 - Rackspace Stock Climbs After Sales Talks Reported - Rackspace stocks rose 16.91 percent to $31.03 overnight. Reports from the Wall Street Journal indicate that the San Antonio based cloud company could be closing a deal this week with one or more private equity firms. The company has been valued at $4 billion, in a recent report.
Rackspace recently added support and managed services for some of the popular clouds, including Amazon Web Services, to it's portfolio.

📅 - Equinix Has Acquired a Paris-Based Data Center from Digital Realty - Equinix, a data center company, recently acquired a data center from Digital Realty in Paris. The data center caters to about 575 companies providing network services and cloud services. The deal is worth about $210 million and also included some of the operations from Digital Realty in Paris.
Equinix is based out of Redwood City, California and offers internet services including cloud and enterprise solutions. Digital Realty is headquartered in San Francisco, California and provides colocation and client-driven data center solutions.
