Verizon’s Yahoo Acquisition Means Access to a Billion Data Users


📅 - Verizon's Monday announcement of its plans to acquire Yahoo! for $4.83 billion may well pay off handsomely for the telecommunications giant. Yahoo boasts more than 1 billion monthly active users – 600 million of those users access their websites exclusively on mobile devices.

The acquisition is key for Verizon, who has the phones and cable set-top box covered – now, they will be able to have access to customers' internet behavior. Verizon acquired AOL for $4.4 billion. It's clear that the company is scaling up and solidifying their place as the top telecommunications company in the US.
