Hackers Earn $71.2K from Pentagon’s First-Ever ‘Bug Bounty’


📅 - From April 18 – May 12 this year, more than 1,400 hackers attacked the Pentagon's cybersecurity, searching for holes in the security measures from SQL injections to Cross-Site Scripting. The Pentagon invited these hackers to look for security vulnerabilities in efforts to plug what could be “dangerous holes” in public websites run by the Department of Defense.

The total cost of the Bug Bounty, as the DoD is referring to it, was about $150,000, including the cost paid to the successful hackers.
