📅 - SingleHop has introduced Cloud SafetyNet, which will help to protect Veeam Cloud Connect Backup customers from any failure keeping them from accessing their information. This is a free virtual private cloud environment for emergency preparedness. It will be available within 24 hours of a disaster and can be used free of charge for up to 30 days.
The service is meant to compliment the Disaster Recovery as a Service offered rom Veeam by SingleHop. The DRaaS service was launched earlier this year after a partnership between SingleHop and Veeam was created.

📅 - Transatlantic Cable Partnership Created Between Facebook and Microsoft - Two giants are now partners for the transatlantic data cable. Microsoft and Facebook have joined forces with another company called Telefonica in order to create the transatlantic cable. The cable is expected to cover about 4,101 miles and will be managed by Telxius. It will connect terminal hubs in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as connecting Bilbao, Spain and Virginia Beach, United States with a subsea cable.
The cable will have an open design with 8 fiber pairs with 160 Tbps of capacity. The work on the cable will begin in August of 2016 with the hopes of completing the project by October of 2017.
