Feb 8, 2011 : mindSHIFT Acquires ORBIT Systems
📅 - Company expands its IT services offering across North America with acquisition of ORBIT Systems.
mindSHIFT Technologies, a provider of IT and cloud services, today announced that it has acquired ORBIT Systems, an IT managed services company. The company mentions that it and ORBIT have closely aligned product portfolios, with leading cloud services offerings and high levels of customer service. This acquisition is instrumental in expanding its presence across North America.
It articulates that founded in 1999, ORBIT makes it easy for small and mid-size businesses to get the most out of their technology. ORBIT acts as a virtual IT department, providing a total outsource solution at an enterprise-level IT capability, in order to make technology a strategic asset for businesses, instead of a distraction or point of frustration. This is the company's second acquisition in 2011. The company also acquired Alpheon, a North Carolina-based MSP with significant reach in the healthcare industry, on January 5. ORBIT has 54 employees who will remain with the company following the acquisition. The addition of both Alpheon and ORBIT brings the total number of employees in the company to 492.
"ORBIT has been a pioneer in developing cloud-based services and they have built a great foundation on which to grow," said Paul Chisholm, mindSHIFT Chairman and CEO. "Their experience, depth of knowledge and high-quality solutions will enable us to further enhance our customer offerings and continue to provide the very best customer service."
"This is a very exciting day for ORBIT, its employees and customers. The opportunity to join a company like mindSHIFT, which has firmly established its position at the front of the MSP industry, provides us with greater opportunities, capabilities and reach," said Steve McFarland, ORBIT President and Founder. "We look forward to working with the great team of people that Paul has assembled, and further expanding our operations under the mindSHIFT umbrella."
