SoftLayer Technologies, an on-demand data center services provider, yesterday announced that it has launched the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS). The company says that NMS provides its customers advanced monitoring capabilities designed to improve management of their hosted environment and increase the performance and availability of their business applications.

The company states that all its customers will receive the same standard-level monitoring, including automated alerts and reporting on critical health indicators. It adds that NMS' extensive APIs provide seamless, bi-directional data communications with management applications, such as configuration management databases and service desks. This enables tight integration between NMS and customers' management environments, as well as between NMS and the company's automated deployment and operations process, enabling the company to quickly scale the service to tens of thousands of servers.
