Jul, 2010 : Go Daddy Opens New Customer Care Facility
Go Daddy, a domain name registrar and hosting provider, yesterday announced that it has opened its new customer care facility in Hiawatha, Iowa. The company says that first announced in January, the 50,000-square-foot customer care facility is located near Cedar Rapids and has the capacity to accommodate 500 employees.
It avers that in a opening ceremony attended by employees, local dignitaries and reporters, Go Daddy President and COO Warren Adelman and Iowa Lt. Governor Patty Judge "cut the ribbon," provided a facility tour and spoke about the company's commitment to customer service.
According to the company, it expanded in Hiawatha to keep up with its consistent growth. It is looking to fill 60 positions immediately and anticipates it will hire up to 150 more over the next year.
It articulates that while most companies have been cutting back on new hires during the recession, it has continued hiring new employees throughout. In 2009, the company's revenue increased 22 percent while its customer base has increased by 18 percent within the last year. It now employs more than 2,640 people and has offices in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Washington, DC, Toronto, Amsterdam and Singapore.
"This new Hiawatha facility represents a tremendous opportunity for us to keep growing and for new employees to be a part of an exciting, dynamic team," Adelman told the crowd. "We're looking to hire passionate people for a variety of positions, people who want to make a difference. Developers, IT professionals, people for security and facilities, as well as customer care personnel for whom we provide on-the-job training."
