Dec, 2009 : AfterLogic Announces New cPanel Integrated WebMail
📅 - Offers multi-domain user interface that emulates standalone mail clients and supports virtually all web browsers.
AfterLogic, a developer of e-mail related applications and components, today released the beta of its, cPanel/WHM-integrated version of AfterLogic WebMail Pro, providing web hosts with the opportunity to offer a modern webmail solution for their clients and solve a common source of customer complaints. The company states that unlike the webmail clients that are included in the default cPanel/WHM installation, WebMail Pro offers an interactive, multi-domain user interface that emulates standalone mail clients and supports virtually all web browsers. It adds that WebMail Pro includes a robust contacts/address book manager and full calendar/scheduling (private, public, and shared calendars) functionality.
The company further states that other features of WebMail Pro include folders and sub-folders; full IMAP support; many skins and interface languages; a robust rich-text (WYSIWYG) editor; support for multiple mail accounts per user; domain-level branding and defaults; PDA version for mobile devices; a web-based administration panel, and a Developer's API.
"cPanel is one of the web hosting industry's most widely used control panel systems, but for years, users have complained about limited webmail functionality - the open source solutions installed by default have simply not caught up with the times. Web hosting customers have in the past been driven to using standalone mail clients like Outlook or even rely on outside mail hosting services, like Gmail, to provide a reliable web-based mail interface. That's self-defeating," said Vlad Klimenko, Hosting Provider Program Manager at AfterLogic.
"With these concerns in mind, we've decided to build on the success WebMail Pro has been enjoying in the corporate market over the years, and deliver a version just for web hosting providers. cPanel integration is just the first step, and we plan to build a significant community of web host providers. Our WebMail application is absolutely loaded with features, and we made it extremely affordable by rolling out special licensing and pricing for ISPs and hosting companies," he said.
