Oct, 2009 : DiscountASP.NET Announces Support for MSDeploy

DiscountASP.NET, a Windows hosting provider, today announced the support for Microsoft's recently released Web Deployment Tool 1.0, also known as MSDeploy on its Windows 2008 hosting platform. The Web Deployment Tool improves the web deployment experience for developers hosting at the company. The company claims that this tool allows developers to package their web application configurations and content, including databases, and to use the packages for both deployment and archiving.

It states that with feature delegation support, its customers can deploy their application packages to the web and SQL servers using IIS Manager without requiring administrative privileges, including the ability to set folders as an application starting point. It further states that the tool also supports the management of parameter changes between development, staging and production environments, for example, updating of the database connection string. During application deployment only files that has changed is synchronized saving both time and bandwidth.
