📅 October 21, 2008 - Software as a service provider Intermedia (intermedia.net) announced on Tuesday it has expanded its hosted Microsoft Exchange offering to customers in the United Kingdom.
Last year, the company recognized a demand for higher-end Exchange 2007 solutions and promptly switched its focus from enterprises to the small and medium-sized business market.Intermedia's hosted Exchange offering enables users to pay a set monthly, per-user fee for the service, which is particularly benefical during the current declining economy, as businesses are looking to avoid as much financial risk as possible.As part of its portfolio of hosted offerings, Intermedia also offers SharePoint v3 and Office Communications Server 2007, which can both be included as add-ons to the hosted Exchange service.  This added advanced productivity and collaboration functionality to the core Exchange feature set provides users with the document sharing and advanced messaging tools they need to stay organized. "The introduction of Intermedia's hosted Microsoft Exchange solution in the UK is a direct reflection of its commitment to meeting customer needs," says Oxana Mclain, general manager of Intermedia's UK division. "There has been such high demand for Intermedia's robust services in the UK market that our strategic decision to build out this division of our organization was an easy one."The company provides a range of hosted and private label SaaS services, including Microsoft Exchange 2007, SharePoint, Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.Intermedia says it provides messaging and collaboration solutions in the form of SaaS to more than 25,000 small and medium-sized businesses to manage their business email and host their websites.
